ABOUT SENSEI LEONARDO GIL BEROES
Starting his Karate journey BACK in the late ’60s, Sensei Leonardo Gil Beroes transitioned to traditional Shorin Ryu Karate during the ’80s. Presently, a 4th-degree Black Belt (4th Dan out of five) holder in the Shorin Ryu system, he owns four schools, including Dojo Binnenhof, Dojo De Pijp, and a private Dojo in Jordaan, all in the city of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Sensei Gil’s extensive teaching experience spans from 1984 to the present, encompassing Self-Defense courses in Amsterdam, Barcelona, Madrid, Venezuela, and Japan.
Focused on balancing the body’s sides, traditional Shorin Ryu Karate disregards left and right-handed distinctions, emphasizing equal precision and strength. With over 50 years of practice, Sensei Leonardo advocates using Karate as a last resort, emphasizing that a true karateka isn’t a fighter but a winner in life. Invited to give seminars globally, his wisdom underscores self-mastery over external competition.
